Two-Spirit Narratives
I had hoped to examine views of gender within an animist worldview. In anthropology, animism, or belief in the spirit of all things, is widely understood as the beginning of religion. However, in my research, I found that "animism" is a term Western anthropologists imposed on a great diversity of beliefs from varying indigenous cultures globally. For this reason, I decided to instead provide a number of links related to two spirit identity.
I will not comment in depth on two-spirit identities, as a white settler I cannot. Two-spirit identities come from various first peoples Nations in Turtle Island (known by settler society as "North America").
